I have ADHD. My working memory doesn’t hold much, my attention isn’t reliably mine to point at things, and most mornings I wake up a stranger to whatever past-me was halfway through. The standard advice is make a list, build the habit, just remember to — and “just remember to” is the bit where it already failed.
So I built something that does the remembering.
Second Brain Chronicles is where I build that system in public. A living system. I use AI — Claude Code, mostly — to put real functionality into it: apps that do jobs, agents that run on a schedule, pipelines that mine decades of my own files and surface what matters. It reads, writes, remembers, and acts, and it gets more capable every week.
That constraint shaped all of it. Build for a brain that drops things and the system has to do the work itself — bring the thing to you at the moment it matters, hold the thread while you’re gone, take the next step without being asked. Build for that and you end up with something a lot more useful than a tidier folder structure.
Here I show you three things: the functionality I’m adding and how it works, what it’s helping me do — the work it takes off my plate and the thinking it sharpens — and exactly how you build the same for yourself.
I’m Jim Christian — a digital integrator, educator, and author. I’ve spent years wiring these tools into real work. This is where that work is on show: a real AI second brain, built in the open, with the instructions to build your own.
If you want an AI that knows what you know and does real work on it — especially if your own head won’t hold it all — you’re in the right place.
